In the fall of 1984, Joey bought his first tow truck and has turned his dream into a reality as the largest fleet in Ontario with over 150 assets, employing over 200 people. Joey’s passion has also translated into extensive reform of the tow truck industry, crafting Bill 15; Fighting Fraud and Reducing Automobile Insurance Rates Act and lobbying Parliament to get it passed.
Joey is also passionate about giving back to the community and is heavily involved in many philanthropic causes from the Ontario March of Dimes, Crime Stoppers, Juvenile Diabetes, Sick Kids Hospital, Children’s Wish Foundation, and Toronto Food Bank to coaching and contributing to the Minor Hockey League and various local sports teams.
Presently, Joey is working on bringing change to the Ontario Provincial government to enact legislation that would dramatically change existing laws regulating the towing industry. He adds an invaluable level of experience to Abrams Auto Transport with his business acumen and unwavering dedication to the towing and transport industry.
He then progressed to becoming a union representative and eventually joined the management team at Leaseway, PTS and Jack Cooper. Mark was instrumental in opening the Oshawa office of Jack Cooper in Ontario and brings both unionized and non-union experience to Abrams.
In his spare time, Mark likes to cruise around in his mint condition corvette and spending time with family.
